Name |
Alisha Mahmood Alumn for Year 12 |
---|---|
Year I left BVGA | 2014 |
Current Role |
Bridge Engineer I currently work for an international consultancy firm called Jacobs in Leeds. Here, I am working towards my Chartered status to become a senior Engineer; my aim is to gain some experience abroad which will broaden my engineering practice. |
Achievements and accomplishments |
Personally my greatest accomplishment upon leaving school has been my travelling experience. I have been fortunate enough to travel to some of the greatest wonders of the world and experience the cultures there; I have done lots from swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines to hiking Machu Picchu in Peru, and even skydiving in New Zealand and bungee jumping in South Africa. |
My advice to BVGA students |
My advice is to make the most of your journey in education and to grasp every opportunity that comes your way. Try to challenge yourself and do not worry about stereotypes or any barriers because those are there for you to break down. You do not know what you are capable of until you try. |
