Equipment and uniform
Year 7 to Year 11 Uniform
Our uniform is designed to be smart, comfortable and affordable. Students have a range of uniform choices as set out below. All items are stocked by Natasha’s Uniform Shop in Bradford.
Belle Vue Girls' Academy Uniform
- BVGA branded blazer or BVGA branded black sweatshirt
- BVGA branded short-sleeve or long-sleeve black polo-shirt or plain white school shirt
- Plain black school trousers or school skirt, plain black abaya or tunic
- Optional plain black headscarf
- Plain black flat shoes, trainers or boots
- BVGA Lanyard & ID card, provided by school
- A bag to carry books and equipment
PE Uniform
From September 2025 a new black and red Belle Vue PE shirt is being introduced. Students can continue to wear the current blue PE shirt in September, but we ask that you purchase the new shirt during the course of the year.
- BVGA branded blue polo shirt or the new BVGA branded black and red PE shirt
- Branded PE jumper with logo (optional)
- Black or navy jog bottoms
- If you wish to wear a headscarf for PE, elasticated headscarves are required
- Sports trainers
Students are not allowed to wear:
- Outdoor clothing (coats, hats, scarves) inside the building
- Jeans, leggings, cargo pants
- Non-branded jumpers or t-shirts
- Ugg-style shoes, open-back shoes, and open-toe shoes
- Hoop or drop earrings, nose rings, rings, necklaces
- False nails
- Subtle, natural make-up is acceptable for older students

At Belle Vue we have followed the guidance and ensured that that the cost of school uniforms is reasonable and secures the best value for money. If you require support with uniform please get in touch with your daughter's Pastoral Manager.
Sixth Form Dress Code
Sixth form students are required to dress smartly and be well-presented
- Clothing must be appropriate for the school environment - no ripped clothing or offensive slogans
- Sensible flat or low heeled shoes, trainers or boots with backs
- BVGA lanyard and ID Card, provided by school
Essential Equipment – Ready to Learn
At Belle Vue Girls’ Academy, we expect every student to arrive fully prepared for learning each day. Having the correct equipment ensures lessons can start promptly and no learning time is lost.
Pupils should bring the following to school everyday:
- Pencilcase with pens, pencil, sharpener, rubber, ruler, calculator and coloured pencils
- A reading book
- Exercise books (provided by school) for that day’s lessons
- PE kit (Only on PE days).
Pupils may also like to bring a notebook to record important messages or independent learning.
